I had such an amazing time in Ragged Point CA for Katie’s wedding. It was a truly beautiful day filled with lots of love!
Since this wedding was set to a beach background, Katie wanted to keep her makeup fresh and natural with a pop of color on the cheeks and lips. Katie has amazing skin, so it didn’t take much to make her look flawless.
To start, I used Emryolisse Lait-Crème Concentre moisturizer to prep her skin. I’m not joking when I say pretty much every woman I put this on say’s “what is that, it feels amazing!” Its good stuff! Next I buffed Makeup Forever HD foundation all over the face to balance out her skin tone. I then went over that very lightly with the Divine Goddess Luminizer by Buxom. This creates a warm bronzed tone without looking orange.
My favorite concealer to use, which looks amazing on 99% of women, is the Erase Paste by Benefit cosmetics. Not only does it have a bit of an orange-tone, which combats dark circles, but also it brightens, bouncing the light away from the face. This gives you a healthy, just slept 10 hours look. I put that under the eyes, down the nose, on the forehead just about the nose and brows, and on the chin. This lightening effect makes the face have a highlighted look, and the features have a more forward motion.
Next I use Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit to powder and contour. I used the Banana shade to set the Erase Paste areas. I then use the color Fawn to shade under the cheekbones from the hairline down to the apple of the cheeks. This creates a chiseled look, sculpting the face.
My new favorite blush is technically a Highlighter. I used the Rose Gold Shimmering Skin Perfector by Becca to give a pop of color and a glow at the same time on the cheeks. I then swiped the Opal Shimmering Skin Perfector by Becca just above the apple of the cheeks on the bone to highlight even further.
I filled in Katie’s brows using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz pencil in taupe. The trick to great brows is to go a bit darker in the arch and keep the hairs towards the nose lighter. This gives the brows a natural ombre effect.
I used my brand new Makeup Forever Palette 9 Artist Shadow colors on Katie’s eyes. These shadows have a light shimmer, completing the perfect soft beach look she was wanting. I used ME-512 all over the lid and D-562 in the crease of the lid to give depth. I created a smudged liner look using the Stila Kajal Eye Liner in Onyx. To finish off the eyes I used Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara in waterproof. Katie has beautiful lash extensions right now so false lashes were not needed.
We decided to do a pop of pink on the lips to add some fun to the look. I used Sephora’s Cream Lip Stain in Pink Souffle to create a long lasting shade. I lightly went over that with Lorac’s Sweet Temptations Gloss in Cotton Candy to give some shine.
The look was a perfect natural beach look that complimented Katie’s bridal look and personality! I had so much fun creating it! Thank you for such a wonderful day Katie!
